2010 Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner- Dr. Jim Kerrigan

James Thomas Kerrigan entered Ursuline High School from Saint Christine School. He was a member of the Basketball Team ('70-'71) and the Football Team ('70-'72). Dr. Kerrigan was a 5-9, 180-pound guard- linebacker for the Irish under Head Coach, Jim Maughan. During his Junior year, he was named Steel Valley Defensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance against Boardman. The Irish prevailed in that game by a score of 26-8. Jim was credited with 11 tackles and two assists. The Irish won the Steel Valley Conference Championship in 1972 ~ the first SVC title in school history. Dr. Kerrigan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Professional Studies. He earned his MD from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo in 1982. His internship was done at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital -- Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency programs at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital -- Sinai Hospital of Detroit -- Providence Hospital -- Harper Hosptital -- Grace Hospital in Detroit, MI and Shriner Hospital for Crippled Children in Erie, PA. Dr. Kerrigan is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Kerrigan's practice is in General Orthopaedics at The Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Kerrigan is married to Mary Alice "Mimi."
