WVVS/Valdosta went stereo in 1984. A celebration/concert was put together in May to enjoy local talent in an outdoor setting. Mayhem. This is footage from the Mayhem concert from 1989 on the Valdosta State University Fine Arts lawn. Several local bands are included; Plaid Astronauts, Whompus Cats, Double Barrel Slingshot and The Clinic. (Members from these groups also belonged to Valdosta bands The Initials and Dispater.) A sub eating contest is included as well as shots of the crowd and tents for food, art and SAVE. Unfortunately the bands are all doing covers instead of their own material. Sorry, that is what was captured on tape. Later that evening, the Detroit band Dog Soldier took the stage and shot footage for an MTV video. Does anyone have that footage?
