1955 www.myspace.com Nolan Strong & The Diablos : "Daddy Rocking Strong" (Fortune Records 1955) From: Fortune 516 -Do You Remember What You Did / Daddy Rockin Strong- Nolan Strong & The Diablos were an R&B and doo-wop vocal group best know for its hit songs "The Wind" and "Mind Over Matter." The group recorded for Fortune Records, a small label in Detroit starting in the 1950s. Nolan Strong, the lead vocalist, had an etherially high, strong tenor voice. Strong's smooth tenor, influenced mainly by Clyde mcphatter, in turn, was a primary influence on a young Smokey Robinson. The Diablos were inducted into the United In Group Harmony Hall of Fame in 2003. In March 2008 the group was inducted into the Doo-Wopp Hall Of Fame Of America.
