This video was inspired by elements of Norm Chomsky's "necessary illusion" concept , and delivers the end result of the public falling asleep at the wheel. "Boogie Chillen'" (also sometimes listed as "Boogie Chillun'") is an electric blues song written by John Lee Hooker. It is considered one of the genre's most important and influential recordings for the forthcoming rock 'n' roll. Hooker moved to Detroit in 1943, attracted by well-paying factory work. Taking up residence in Detroit's east side, he found a position as a janitor at Chrysler. After work, he would take in the sights and sounds of Hastings Street, the cultural center of the city's black community, called Paradise Valley. The scores of blues and jazz clubs, many of which Hooker would eventually play in, would influence the lyrics of "Boogie Chillen'". Hooker presented the song to local record store owner and producer Bernard Bessman. Liking what he heard, Besman brought Hooker to United Sound Studios, located at 5840 2nd Ave. in Detroit, to record the track with Maurice King who later became Music Director at Motown. The arrangement is sparse, featuring Hooker's twangy electric guitar, raspy stuttering voice, and tapping foot keeping the beat. Even though Bessman had his own record label, Sensation Records, in order to get "Boogie Chillen" he licensed it to Los Angeles record label Modern Records.[2] On November 3, 1948, "Boogie Chillen'" was released nationally on the Los Angeles-based Modern Records label, coupled with "Sally May," as Modern 20-627. Detroit's legendary master jazz trumpeter was born in Chester, PA. He is best known for his longtime association in playing with Ray Charles. More recently, at the request of Wynton Marsalis, and The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, he represented Detroit as part of the Lincoln Center Motor City Jazz Masters tribute which Included Yusef Lateef, Curtis Fuller, Charles McPherson, and Ron Carter. A true musical Renaissance man, there isnt much trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator, recording artist and producer, Marcus Belgrave cant boast is on his curriculum vitae. He is a professor of music at Oberlin University, in Oberlin Ohio, is the co-founder of the Jazz Studies Program at The Detroit Metro Arts Complex and the Jazz Development Workshop in Detroit. His career as a player has intersected with an unparalleled variety of musicians across several musical generations including Ray Charles, with whom he collaborate extensively, Ella Fitzgerald, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, Dizzy Gillespie, Eric Dolphy, Aretha Franklin, Wynton Marsalis and Joe Henderson. This shows the return of our People mover. We moved from our elevated subway layout to the Detroit People mover. Boy were the other clubs there impressed. We even had two bat bots chasing the enemies of Batman attacking them in different areas of the layout.

my friends (zeus on roids) covering detroit rock city at our school talent show. the greenish tint is from nightvision on my camera because of how shitty the lighting was. the singer/guitarist isn't actually the singer. the singer quit and he was forced to sing. sorry for the mute near the end of the video.
